I've always been a Win9x user and mostly delved into the hardware aspect of the PC (me a gamer at heart). Work is going to go to W2K and I thought I might want to try it out at home. I don't want to stop using Win98se so multiple boot is what I'm planning to do. I might even give Linux a try.

Feel free to let me know some of your opinions on this, but what I'm really after are some links to good sites that really dig into this. Anybody got any?

TIA.

As a general rule install to older versions first, i.e. WIN98 then WINNT4 then WIN2K and Linux last. Keep your root drive (C:) below 2GB and formatted as FAT. I don't have a really good source off hand for HOW TO, but do a search for "multi boot" and you will get plenty of hits.

Good Luck!

Hi mmaki is right in saying keep fisrt partition less than 2GB and keep it as FAT when you are intended to install WINNT, because WINNT can not recognize FAT 32 file system. But if you want to install WIN 2K , then there is no such limitations. For multibooting it is better you have three to four partition of your HDD (??GB you have). First install WIN 98 on C drive and then install Lnux and than install Windows 2000. The partition magic is a good choice for partitioning you HDD for multibooting.
