nero 5.5 is dumb and wants to burn my 24x cd's only at 12x, where roxio 5 let's me burn 16x cd's at 24x...

i know, we all hate roxio, but i have the need for speed!

btw, i know it had issues with windows xp...can they be solved with just an update from roxio or what?

i dont see why people dont like cd creator from Roxio. its the same as Nero pretty much.

my copy of nero was bundled and i don't have another system to put the cd-rw in...

i can always uninstall roxio, and i'm going to a lan party in about 8 days so that'll help...in the mean time, do i just need a patch to run ez coaster creator 5 in xp?

and nero is any better? ;)
i dunno.. ive had problems with both.. cd creator is just easier and quicker in my opinion. Then again, i havent burned a cd at all in almost 6 months... so it doesnt really matter to me one way or the other. They're both just taking up space on my hard drive.

WOW, that is a long time to not use a cd-rw unit. You should probably just unplug it inside the case and save on wear and tear on it. It will probably last longer that way, then just plug it in when you are going to use it, before powering up the PC of course.

i still use it as a regular cd drive though.. or is that bad? Do you think i should unplug and just use my dvd drive for all my cd purposes?

WOOT! ez coaster creator technically doesn't support my burner, but it's letting me burn a 10x cd-rw @ 12x...

for now, nero can suck my d*ck :)

I have the same problem also. It seems like it looks at the id on the CD and for some reason in its list the CD is listed as only reliably burning at the lower speed I guess.
