So my genius idea may have backfired on me. I was looking for a way to add a large music selection in my car. My idea was to borrow my coworker's ipod and purchase an ipod interface controller for my car stereo. If everything worked to my satisfacation I'll go out and buy an ipod myself. Well I got everything working but the interfacing was lacking so I decided against it.
On the way to work that morning I was listening to it and it worked just fine. After I parked, with the screen saying Ok to Disconnect, I disconnected it from the controller. The ipod turned off but I didn't try turning it back on. I gave it back to him but I guess he didn't try turning it on either til after work. Well it's now stuck in "Ok to Disconnect" and when he tried to reset it it comes back up with a check mark or exclamation mark. He hasn't tried loading the software back in yet. I did a google on this problem and seems like it's a common occurance with ipods getting stuck in the OK to disconnect message.
Hopefully he can get it back up but if it's really hosed then I don't mind replacing it if it's out of warranty.
