I notified cliffe (developer for Counter-Strike) of a bug in a new map "de_inferno" last night. Not to get into the details, but I pulled the map from my Linux server install to test it out right when it was released. Turns out there was a nasty cheat/bug that could have been used if somebody found out. Emailed cliffe. Well, there's a patch now, for all Linux admins. My name made the front page, which is pretty damn cool!

My CS handle is "Haste". It's on the front page. Oh yeah :D

<< Thanks very much to Stem, Dakota, Haste, Frank Nuccio, Kris, Stratos, Brian Steele, Erik Johnson, Eric Smith, and Bizzyblaster. >>

Check it out!

Here's another link:

When the map was re-orientated, that hidden brush did not get orientated along with the rest of the map. Therefore, it did not clip the area it was supposed to. >>

Basically, uhm, it was pretty nasty. I don't want to get into the details (in case there is still a version of it floating around), but you could easily take out everybody on the map without them knowing about it - if you get my drift ...

Uhhh, much worse. ;) Read the "de_inferno bug" link above and you'll understand the problem better.
