This is actually the second one I made.

my pizza

I made the dough myself and the toppings are:

pepperoni
ham
green pepper
crimini mushrooms
onions
4 cheese blend: mozza, cheddar, monterey jack and jalapeno cheese.

this smells amazing.

😎

Take off the 'shrooms and I'd eat it. Did you make the sauce yourself too? Opening a jar of Ragu is not pizza from scratch.

Eh, he probably didn't make the cheese either. It's all about practicality, and it takes hours to make pizza sauce.

Eh, he did say from scratch. We can expect he didn't make the pepperoni himself, but typically from scratch at least includes the sauce.

Not sure why you say it takes hours. Even using a readily available tomato paste and making the rest of the sauce that way yields a better sauce than most canned varieties.

imo

There are plenty of good pizza sauce recipes that take 10-15 minutes. I would consider tomato paste + sauce + wide variety of spices to be "from scratch".

I usually go with this one:

1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 clove garlic
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 tablespoon olive oil

Fixed it for you.

Spaghetti sauce is one of the easiest things to make well. It requires just about no cooking skills other than chopping and stirring and even a mediocre homemade sauce blows away the best jar sauces.

ok guys.

here is how it is: too much tomato sauce gives me awful indigestion. I used a very small amount of tomato paste.

I made the dough myself.

I'd guess you aren't Italian. Marinara sauce is quick and easy. It's the Sunday "gravy" that takes hours to cook - the longer the better - mainly to let it absorb the flavor of the assorted meats you cook in it.

I've had homemade pizza just about every Friday since I was born.

For pizza sauce, all I do is simmer plain no-salt tomato sauce while I make the dough with a bread machine.

By the time the dough is ready, the sauce has simmered down to about the same consistency as Ragu -- maybe slightly thicker.

Simple and cheap. For a change, I'll add garlic, basil, barbecue sauce, or hot sauce.

Other than that, your pizza looks good -- except i don't care for ham or mushrooms.
