I inserted a floppy drive into my drive - the entire machine INSTANTLY locked hard.

Gnashed the reset button after a "WTF, that's not supposed to happen" and the boot sequence started - NONE of my hard drives detected. Rather than requesting a boot disk, the entire screen immediately changed to randomly flashing characters and the sound card making demented squeals.

After freaking out and trying literally every hardware solution I could, I noticed that there was a disk in my floppy drive - and immediately yanked it out and hit reset. Everything. Worked. PERFECTLY.

Needless to say, the disk was IMMEDIATELY doused in lighter fluid and ignited.

English teacher insists on floppy disk copies of everything. She's too stupid to handle CDs. I attempted to explain to her that I didn't HAVE a floppy drive, but she threatened to flunk me so I plunked down the $5.

Should've handed her a 5 1/4 floppy or even an 8 inch.
