1st upgrade - Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit from Windows XP Pro 32bit
This was not as scary as most people would imagine. So far all the software I have installed works fine. There seems to be plenty of support for Vista out there right now. Everything on my storage drive, carried over from XP, is usable and viewable. I have to say it has been painless. In fact, Vista seems to run a little snappier than XP.
2nd upgrade - 6 gigs of ram from 2 gigs
I now have a 64bit os... why not have more than 4 gigs! For some reason I did have to lower the OC on my e7200 from 4ghz to 3.8Ghz to run stable. I will gladly trade the .2Ghz for the extra 4 gigs of ram.
3rd upgrade - 46" Sharp LCD TV from an 18.1" Dell monitor.
1920X1080 looks amazing, especially on a 46" LCD! I bought a DVI to HDMI adaptor and a 6' HDMI cable and off I went. Gaming looks amazing and Vista looks just as impressive. I now need a new, bigger computer desk. :frown:
All in all, I rate my upgrades an A+. If you are planning on any similar upgrades and have any questions, please feel free to ask.
