I took a call yesterday where a dealership having trouble installing a new Fuel Deliver Module (FDM) on a vehicle and it was leaking fuel. I asked the dealer what they torqued the FDM locking ring to and his answer was ?we didn?t use a torque wrench to tighten the FDM locking ring.? I advised the dealer to review the service procedure and call back if the concern was still present. The dealer said ?The fuel tank is hanging down right now, we will torque the ring and I know I will have to call you back, so why don?t just give me approval to replace the tank now.? I said, ?Sir, please follow the service procedure and complete the FDM replacement correctly.? The then said, ?so you want me to take the fuel tank out of the vehicle again just to prove that tank leaks?? ?Sir I want you to complete the repair per the service instructions and if you continue to have the concern please call me back.? The dealer said it should only take a few minutes to torque the ring and he would be calling me back.

It?s been over 21 hours since that phone call and he hasn?t called back.

I though you guys might want a glimpse at what I do all day long.

Basically he said "f you, I'm doing it my way."
If he does it his way he is paying for a four hundred dollar fuel tank.
