Agreed, Johnny Cash, did the version
that will not be beat. The video that goes with his singing is Very moving.

I have seen that video prob. 6 times, and each time,
I shed tears.

I recall seeing Jonny Cash on TV when I was little,
and hearing him on the radio all my life.

We all get old and "go away".

The only footage I've ever seen of soul great Donny Hathaway actually in live motion (not still photos). His career peaked in '73 and he died in '79, well before VCRs were commonplace. There's some footage from what appears to be a date from his '71 tour (some of which spawned the "Live" album in '72).

I'm at work and it's blocked so I can't link.

I love being able to watch old Mighty Max episodes. Used to watch them all the time as a kid.

Trent Reznor - Nine Inch Nails. early 90s I believe.

One of the most gutwrenching, most superb songwriting ever created. It thoroughly describes a deep, deep feeling of loss and self destruction struggling to stop it, but can't.
