I love winter driving...

I don't know why, but I get an adrenaline rush driving in the winter knowing that I could lose control and get into an accident...

Not that I drive fast in winter or anything... I still drive cautiously (sp?)...

I also like having a 4x4 SUV in the winter... very helpful IMO... Michigan Winters can get badd...

One day, we had a bad storm, and when school got out, the only people who were able to leave were the people who had AWD/4x4... it was funny...

This year, Farmers Almanac predicts a bad winter... So I can't wait...

Please, for the love of sparring the flame fest, tell me that should be read the way it sounds.

Maybe it would be better said if it was "I get an adrenaline rush driving in the winter from being in a heigtened state of alarm and caution for fear of RUNNING MY CAR OFF A BRIDGE OR INTO A DITCH OR SOMETHING....

errr... okay, maybe that isn't that good either, but still better than you 😉

It's all in the driver. My little RWD sportscar has passed countless 4WD and AWD vehicles in the winter because I remember to keep good tires on the car, slow down, and start braking gently and early.

your profile says you are from MS, not MI...but anyways...

people like you are the ones that make me scared in the winter time..."I have 4x4 so I can go as fast as I want"...

does your vehicle have 4x4 stop too???

I see more 4x4's in the ditch than I do rear wheel drive little tiny cars...Every year some jerkoff will go blowing by me when I am doing a reasonable speed on the highways, and every once in a while I will see him in the ditch up to his doorhandles in snow...I just honk and wave politely as I drive by

if you believe that 4x4 is going to save you, you are headed for an accident

...so they go barelling down slippery roads... then run into a tree... and sue the company because the 4WD did not 'work'.

I agree w/ Zenmervolt that it's all in the driver... I'm from southeast Ohio, where some of our winters bury us in snow. I have yet to ever get stuck due to weather conditions, slick roads, snow, etc. Last winter, I drove a 2002 Buick Regal, the two years before, a 1989 Mercury Topaz. This year will be a 1999 Ford Explorer.

Now that I think about it, I've driven quite a few vehicles in the winter, for only having driven 3 winters. My dad works for the local township, as their sole road worker/maintenance/etc... One Sunday morning, it had snowed quite a bit, Dad was out running one of the large dump trucks, trying to clear some of the roads... so I felt like firing up the tow truck and taking it for a spin. What fun! I would be going slowly down one of the township roads (remember, this is the country, these roads are normally gravel, hilly, loosely bedded, and 1 or 1.5 lanes), and someone would be riding right on my tail. 'For their convenience' (and only when I knew the road was not hazardous enough for bodily harm), I pulled over, and let them pass me. 3 of 5 times, I would come across them a mile or two later... of course I HAD to offer to tow them out 😉 I nearly killed myself with laughter when it was the local pastor I had to pull out of the ditch.

Straight.. to... hell..

ah man... you guyz got me all wrong! I don't drive faster in the winter just cuz i have an SUV... I still drive very cautiously!!!! I said that the first time. I drive as if I am in a car.

I just like driving in the winter because it keeps me more alert cuz I kinda bored of driving these days.

As for the MS and MI thing... I just picked sum random stuff when I made my account.

Probably. 😀 Then again, I'm gay, so the majority of people think I'm already going there anyway. Oh well.

The pastor did learn something from it... he hasn't gotten stuck in that township since then! 😉
