I don't know if I am the only one, but when someone comes flying up behind me and wants to drive within spitting distance of my rear bumper while I am doing 45-50 in a 40 mph zone, I will purposefully slow down to exactly the speed limit, just to piss them off. Particularly if they are one of those idiots that can't seem to see the road without their headlights, foglights, driving lights and fvcking cigarette lighter lit up in my mirrors.
I hate it when you're already doing 20 over and they still do that. Some kind of superiority complex I imagine, like they are trying to prove they can go faster. I assume this because most of the people that exhibit this behaviour are driving rather pricey trucks or have accessories on their car such as spoilers, blue lights, or ugly rims that screams "I think im badass and deserve to push people around".
In that case I just punch it and leave them in the dust (700 RWHP FTW) and hurt their ego a little, that usually gets them to back off. I've brake checked a few people and send them flying off into the shoulder/median before. Can barely see them in my mirror after that.
What I enjoy most though is when they ride my ass at 85 mph when all lanes are full, then when the next lane over opens up and they try to roar past me I shut them down in a hurry and match speeds with the next car up and watch them slink back behind me and give it up.
I've noticed those with trucks with bigger than factory chrome rims seem to behave this way the most. Never surprises me to see a beer soaked tatooed arm hanging out the window either, or some teeny bopper car like an eclipse or 3 series BMW with some bleached blonde blue tipped haired scrub with a crooked spine sitting skewed so that the head is in the center of their windshield. Cool dude. Not.
Merges are another peeve of mine. I get over early and stay there and slow down to let anyone who had previously been in front of me stay there. But if someone behind me tries to blow around me knowing damn well that lane is going to end and everyone else is getting over, I won't let them. Not much they can do about it against 700 RWHP and 4.10 gears.
If someone rolls up next to me, matches my speeds, signal, and waits for me to acknowledge, I'll back off and accomodate. But if they try to race their way up and push and shove their way in, they can get behind me.
I do my best to "share the road" and cooperate with other drivers so things flow smoothly, wait my turn in line, be polite, etc. but I will not put up with this kind of aggressive pushing and shoving attitude.
