I love this about my job...

Every single day I drive to work right past an active Army flight line. Today, like many days, an Apache helicopter flew probably less than 100 feet, maybe as low as 50 feet over my car as I drove right under it. Happens a couple times a week.

Each day I see Apaches, Chinooks, Blackhawks, and occasionally Grey Eagles fly right over and every day it makes me smile.

What is something you enjoy about your job?

I get to fly helicoptors. For some strange reason, when I fly down to 50 feet, the same crazy man, in a terrible car is under me.

Don't worry. Next time I will accidentally fire at them, and blow it up. No one will notice.

EDIT:
It is armed with a pair of "Mk19 is the nomenclature for a machine gun that shoots 40mm grenades at 325-375 rounds per minute. It is referred to as the "Mark nineteen" machine gun.".

EDIT2: Don't worry. Really it is armed with "non-lethal, 40mm sponge grenade used for riot control purposes.".

My favorite part of my job? I get to work with highly technical avionics systems. Don't want to do it forever, but for this part of my life it's one of the best things I can think of doing. The benefits and experiences that go with it I wouldn't be able to get anywhere else.

Well, I just started at my new job Monday, and it is fairly amazing. The amount of knowledge in the room is probably my favorite thing. So much available to learn is quite a thing of beauty.
