Past Lifer 1957-2014 In Memoriam
OK. I needed another 256MB SD card for my digital camera as it won't get a firmware upgrade to go beyond this capacity and I occasionally want to take more pictures than fit on just one card. Asked in the freebies thread at Ars but no one seems to have one. Well, I got one for free anyway.

Went to the neighborhood Canada Computers this afternoon because I had ordered a laser printer and it was supposed to have arrived on Monday. Turns out a mistake was made so I will have to wait a few days longer. Anyway, I seized the opportunity to ask the guy if they still sold 256MB SD cards as I could not find any online (tried NCIX and Newegg also). He told me to wait a minute, went to the back of the store and showed me the card in the picture. He said he had found it the day before and I could have it. I looked and said that $50 was more than I had expected the price to be. He said "No. You can have it for free. I have no use for it. Look on the label, it says Compusmart. I'm not even sure it works."
Part of me thought "well, selling it to me is obviously one use" but all I said instead is "Thanks. I'll remember this."🙂
So I did get my free SD card afterall. Now I can go to the War Museum and take lots of pictures.
Hard to believe my camera is almost 6 years old.
