They built my computer for me on the cheap! :D

Barton 2500+ AQXEA F 0334 - $75 (local)
Shuttle AN35N Ultra-400 - $48 AR (HD)
512 MB PC3200 CH-5 (2x256) - $74 (HD)
9800 Pro 128 MB - $240 (FS/FT)
120 GB WD Hard Drive - $30 AR (HD)
The rest off the stuff came from old system pulls
-------------------------------------------------

I went from a T-Bird 1.2 Ghz/Geforce 2 GTS-V 32 MB system to a top of the line rig for under $500 Dollars. :D

If that wasn't enough, I'm selling my old stuff off.

80 GB HD - $60
GTS-V - $30
256 MB Ram - $30
A7v133 - $30
1.2 Ghz T-Bird $30

for a grand total of $180 dollars, which brings my total system price down to $287 for this upgrade.

Thanks again FS/FT and Hot Deals.

Next winter, I get to upgrade all the parts that were pulls for this system. ;)
-Game Theater XP Sound Card (To whatever rocks in Winter 04)
-12x10x32 CDRW (DVD-R here I come)
-Speakers (Nah....the Klipisch 4.1s can stay ;))
-Monitor (2001FP.....I can dream can't I :D)
-Mouse/Keyboard (Its Wireless Time)

Just so this thread is not completly masterbatory (i'm glad i can't spell that), what should I use to coll my barton for the eventual OCing it will endure? What are some good games to test this thing with? When is Half Life 2 coming OUUUUT!

One of my boxes is a Asus A7V133 wit AMD Athlon 1.33GHz, and can you tell me how the barton 2500 "compares" (how much faster does it feel) to your older system? I just built myself a new system (P4 2.6C/Asus P4P800-Deluxe, etc), and this system (the Athlon 1333MHz)feels so slow to me lol, that I wanna upgrade. So tell me how it compares!

Its hard to compare just the chips alone since I upgraded the video card too. The best example I can think of was running Halo on my old rig and getting horrible stuttering at 640x480 with everything off. Now, the game is silky smooth at 1280x1024 with everything on. Outside of games, Windows loads a lot faster, my programs open and close faster (that could be the extra ram more than anything), and it does "feel" quicker overall.

Yeah I would prolly do the same upgrade (mobo cpu ram) but no video card because I dont game. My buddys barton 2500 does seem a lot faster then my 1.33GHz (and my 2.6c kills the 1.33 lol), so I think I will upgrade it. Thanks again!

make sure your mobo supports the 2500
