Word of warning. The regulatory mechanisms related to opiod receptors often quickly down regulate in the face of opiod receptor medications. Ie. Each dose has less and less effect. This is usually not limited by periods off the medication (drug holidays), and is accelerated when excess medication is used. Multiple studies suggest that the patient should utilize the minimal dose/strength to allow for a tolerable level of pain in order to function. Most estimates are that about 50% pain relief is sufficent. The consequence is a down regulation of receptors such that hugh doses of powerfull narcotics will no longer control your pain. Often I see people that have allowed this to happen and I am limited by safety to the doses of meds I can use.
There is a reason that heroin addicts often overdose and frequently go into respiratory arrest.

percocet.. good stuff. Thought after all my surgeries.. the percocet rarely touched the pain... but I was in such a damn good mood I did not care.

If you read up on this stuff, it really doesn't kill the pain, but both makes your pain tolerance a little higher and makes it so you don't really care....about anything.

I was on Percocet's for 5 months or so, coming off them was not enjoyable.

Actually, drug combinations and source changes (getting your heroin from a new source with much higher potency drugs and using your old dose scheme) are the two main reasons for overdoses. The combination of opioids, alcohol and/or benzos is by far and away the largest cause of 'heroin overdoses.'

Down regulation just causes addicts to gradually increase their doses, not OD.

the most dangerous thing in most of them is the Tylenol lol

You can remove the acetaminophen easily from most pain pills. Not that I would ever need to do this though, but it can be done if you are taking so much that you are concerned with liver damage.

I like Ibuprofen, but I HATE hydrocodone. I had it one time, and it just made my stomach uncomfortable. I would much rather deal with pain than feel sick.

My "pain management" doc has tried foisting pain killers off on to me for years. Vicodan/norco/hydrocodone...which I'm allergic to but can tolerate if I take Benadryl, plus percodan/percocet, and oxycontin.

"Just tell me what you want...you can have it, no questions asked."

I always told him, "Fuck that. Those damned things make me stupid. I have enough problems with that naturally, I don't need any chemical help."

I have a couple of bottles of oxycontin and hydrocodone left over from my knee surgery almost 8 years ago. They're still good...I took a couple of the hydrocodone (with Benadryl) when I had a molar pulled last year.
I just don't fucking like the effects of the opioids.

I offered to tune up a lady's computer in the apartment building I used to live in. When I walked in there were all these promotional materials advertising vicodin. She was a pharmaceutical rep for the company. I asked her, jokingly, if she had any free samples. She laughed and said no, and also said she didn't feel like going to prison either. She did give me some scratchpads with vicodin logos on them.

They're probably still fine. At the worst, they've lost a bit of potency...

Cant trust myself to keep Percocet in the house. That shit's TOO good.

ideally id just smoke some weed but id rather not get fired via a random drug test

also i can still do my job on pain meds. id just take a nap on anything else

I don't worry about getting fired. i just know nobody that smokes it.

I do wish the government would allow it for pain relief in IL

I schedule an appt. to get lasik done and they gave me these prescription eye drops that helps ease the pain after the surgery. Should I use it before the surgery?
