That's about my max download speed too, right in the 1.05-1.06 megabytes per second if the other server cooperates. The news server sucks, but normal web and FTP downloads fly on OOL. Nice to be able to grab those giant game demos quickly. I got the Beyond Divinity demo today, 165MB, right about 3 minutes.

Which modem you have? When I had the old US Robotics CMX my max speed was about 700K per second, switching to the Motorola surfboard 4200 bumped it up the meg per second range.

10mbits downstream, which you saw in that pic and 1mbit upstream (usually get about 1.1 to 1.2mbits)

do they still cap upload speed, if you upload "too much"? I had them for 6 months, paid $20/month for the first 3 months, then cancel it and order it again

Yes. I got capped once for sending a bunch of music concerts (legal trades) (.shn files) to a friend. I called and apologized and they took the cap off. Been fine ever since. I also don't upload like that anymore
