I discovered Ommegang shortly after moving to Rochester and I've been in love ever since. I'm particularly a fan of their Hennepin style, which upstate NY winters are perfect for brewing and aging in.
But now that Duvel bought Ommegang and is even producing batches of Duvel at Ommegang's brewery in Cooperstown, can we call Hennepin a true Belgian ale? Or is there anything that makes Duvel, Chimay and Orval a far more superior brew?
