But seriously, this is not a parody thread.

I was at my fridge a few moments ago, hungry and looking for a snack when I spied a jar of olives and dug in. It then occured to me that probably not many people eat olives straight up.
Am I the only one who does this?
Don't even get me started about the martini. Alcohol and olives are like match made in heaven.

That thread was a thinly veiled cover of the OPs predilection towards penis. This thread is a legitimate thread about my love of olives.

(I will not deny that I was inspired by the pickle thread however)
 
Oh yeah, lots of people eat olives straight up, they're called Italians and Greeks. 😉
EDIT: And Spaniards. Hell, just about any warm European country.

I eat olives all the time. The giant sevillano olives from Trader Joes are great. I also like black olives and kalamata olives. I make an awesome tapenade.
 
They're delicious. When I went to Spain to visit a friend all my meals came with bread and olives with a side of olive oil. They were very simple yet delicious meals.

SOmetimes in college I'd hit up the olive bar at Wegman's and sit down with olives, cheese, crusty bread and a nice bottle of chianti and just do that for dinner. YUM!

Are you kidding? Go out and make some Greek friends. 🙂 We love our olives. Olives, feta cheese, and some good bread = best food EVER.
 
This thread made me hungry. On my plate now - kalamata olives, feta cheese, and a nice chunk of fresh bread. 😀
 
an interesting fact about olives is that stuffed olives still have to all be done by hand...they havent been able to invent a machine that can stuff olives....
