Most people who live in NJ are assholes. Not just regular assholes, which are cool, but extra asshole-ish. Too asshole-ish for even me.

Depends where you live. Newark/Patterson area sucks obviously - this is the area that most people see since they fly into Newark Airport.
Drive 45 minutes northeast and you're in the 2nd richest county in the country - where I live - very nice
Go west and you are in the woods and mountains. Good camping, rafting, parks. (same if you drive a little more north into upstate New York)
Go south a few hours and you have a more spread out area - but it's building up. It's much cheaper in the southern part of Jersey than in the north!
I love NJ. I've travelled to many parts of the country and I always want to come back and live here (Bergen County) - Anything you could possibly want is only a short drive away.

I've been there. It sucks.
It has townships. "Township" is a stupid word. Every township in NJ is named something like "Pequanaquin" or "Cheesequake" or some other ridiculous name.
They have damn traffic circles and weird roads that must have been engineered by blind monkeys.|

Not all of NJ sucks.... well it does... but there are areas that could be really nice if it were for the fact that these areas are in NJ.
Insurance is a scam statewide... we have the most corrupt politicians in the country... taxes are disgusting... and I could go on... but.
the NE of this state is absolutley disgusting. It is just soooo fvcking disgusting. Sh*t drivers, sh*t attitudes, high amoung of illegals, sh*t roads, inflated property taxes, swamplands.
But again... there are some real nices places in this state that have nothing wrong with them except that they are screwed by state laws.

i don't entirely agree. yes NJ definitely has one of the most corrupt state govt i've ever seen, but with regards to auto insurance. the problem in NJ is that we have almost metro city type traffic throughout the whole state. in a state like PA go outside of Philly and voila very little traffic, almost the whole state of NJ has traffic like philly. hence, the whole state has philly type auto insurance rates. and yes, the suburbs and mountains of pa pay less in auto insurance than philly. 😉

it is not only personal auto insurance. It is livery insurance, truckers insurance, and most commerical insurance...
and what about workman's comp insurance? the b/f owns a company. he is the only employee... he is forced to pay almost $4,000 per year in workman's comp. Has he ever collected? Nope. Is he high risk? Nope? But he has to have it cause the state uses his money to pay claims for other businesses that either dont have any insurance, or not enough. He pays something called .. second employee claim. I was unsure of what this was, so i called the state... this is the example of what they told me... this is just in case one of his employees only has one eye, or one leg and has an accident and loses the other eye of leg... they need to get double workman's comp payment... so I say... he doesnt have an employees... it is just him. I was told that it covers other companies who might have such and employee in this example. He was really nice, but explained that the state say they should charge all companies this fee, so they have no choice... WTF?
It is stuff like that ... drives me nuts. Cause every time you turn around,... it is stuff like that. Now this whole Meadowlands Developement thing... Holy Cow... they are screwing up everything... 🙁

The movie Garden State is the biggest piece of overrated trash ever captured on cinematic cameras. Other then that I like to drive across the bridge to AC, WW or OC from time to time
