I love my nForce motherboard

Not only is it 100% stable for me so far, but I just sold my Geforce 3 Ti500 so that I can upgrade to Geforce 4 Ti when it comes out, and since I have an nForce motherboard, I can still play Counter Strike with the onboard video until I receive my Geforce 4. Thank goodness for onboard video. 🙂

which board do you have?

i have the asus one, and i love it too.

Selling a DX8.1 card just to upgrade to a DX8.1 card? Hmmm <shaking my head>.

I've been wanting to get ahold of one of those nForce motherboards, either the MSI or Asus versions though. Which one do you have?

Yeah, I was considering nForce for such a long time until I saw the price of those! The K7N-420 Pro was like $170 back then, and it lacked CPU multipliers....not to mention the A7N266. 🙁

I ended up getting a $100 EPoX 8KHA+, which I like! But if I had gotten an nForce board, I'd have 512 mb ram right now.... (shoulda bought more DDR when it was cheap! )

I have the MSI K7N-420 Pro. I contemplated between the Asus and MSI board but friends who are IT peope hate Realtek network cards. They are crap for large workgroups and so I went with MSI since it has built in NVIDIA networking.

I wanted a dual monitor card and with the Gateway promotion, I am going to pay only about $40 to upgrade to Ti4400. I am happy happy happy 🙂 I am also going to be picking up an LCD soon to have dual monitors 😛

Did they ever explain why they would use a realtek chip for networking or an (external sound chip for sound) when the nForce has networking (and sound) built-in? I never understood that...

Maybe it's cheaper? I have no idea either.

Btw, I'm another happy owner of an MSI K7N420 board. 🙂 Stable and fast is all I require. Although it does suck for overclocking. But you can get the ASUS A7N266-E if you want great overclocking.

Is that true? I really thought the GeForce3 series cards are only DX 8.0 and the Radeon 8500 is the only DX 8.1 card that is currently a respectable performer. Isn't the GeForce4 series cards nVidia's first DX8.1 compatable cards?????
