I received my new Gainward Ti4200 128MB yesterday, along with my XP 1600+ processor. The install was flawless. The 2d quality is perfect. The 3D quality is wonderful. I'm not a hardcore gamer and I have never had a card that cost over $100 (been using a ATI Rage Fury 128 for the past 3 years). I can't belive the difference it makes, even on my SDRAM system - soon to be upgraded.

I can max out the quality settings and play super smooth. MOH:AA looks so much better. I can't wait to get off work.

Thanks for all the recommendations, this card is so much fun!

Wow, that is great. I hope to have a success story similar to yours whenever I make my decision on a card.

I found that the 4200 was a huge jump from my old Radeon 7200. It run's great on my Athlon 750 (soon to be upgraded to an XP2000 :D)

Once again, I am in the same boat as someone else. I have an Athlon 700 and I hope it makes a huge difference over the Voodoo 5 before I get my new CPU :)

Yep envisioncs it is shocking. I went from a P3-500 with a GF2MX to a XP1600+ with a GF4Ti4200 and it was a huge difference. I pretty much went from playing everything at 800x600 with minimum settings to 1280x960 with all visual settings maxed. I even went back and played some older games that I hadn't touched in a while, such as Max Payne, and it was like playing a completely different game; well almost.

Same story here. Went from a P3 866 + a GF2ti to a 1900+ and an Abit 4200 (OC's to 300/600 easily!). It's fun playing Unreal Tournament at 1600x1200 just because I can ;)

My only complaint about the Abit is that the svideo on it does not work... it's a problem other Abit users have experienced as well. Of course I didn't realize it until more than 30 days after I got it from newegg, so I think I'm stuck RMA'ing it for the exact same model! AHHH!

... but yeah, 4200's are a wonderful upgrade, especially because of their price/performance ratio :)

How much have you all paid for the Ti4200? I just got an MSI GeForce 3 Ti-500 64MB DDR 4x AGP with TV-Out from Computer Geeks for $92. Cost me $104 to the door with CA TAX and $5 shipping...

i have my luuuuvely Leadtek Ti4200 128MB VIVO card, bought it for $193 off newegg, free shipping too.

It is a wonderful overclocker, the heatsink/fan-ramsink assembly is awesome, and makes the card look cool hehehe...

Ive got mine running right now at like 10 Mhz over ti4400 speeds, I will push further as soon as I install the new Detonator 40 drivers... :)
*bout 10 minutes*

Went from my Geforce 2 MX 100/200 to here, and it has not disappointed! Performance is awesome, I run Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix singleplayer and multiplayer at 1280 x 1024, and I have seen the FPS counter hit over 100 fps. In single player i Turn on Quinicunx antialiasing (what is the advantage of it?!), 4x anisotropic filtering, and and get around 30-35 fps. I know thats nothing major, but to have everything maxed out, at a nice crisp high resolution, Im more than happy. Things are running smooth!

I got my Ti4200 back in may for $135. It is only the 64MB model and only has single-crt out, but I just wanted something cheap that would last ~year until Doom3 launches.

How far have you guys pushed your Ti4200? I've got an MSI Ti4200 64MB and currently it's at 250/513. Any higher and I think the RAM will give in.

Woah, that's really high! You using any RAM sinks?
