There's no fvckin way I'm gonna pay a significant amount of money for a high end gpu w/o waiting to see how ATI's R520 performs or a possible 32pipe solution as an answer from Nvidia.
There's no game out there that I can't play quite well with my GT so definately I'll wait and see .... 😛

Geforce 2 MX400
Pentium 4 1.5GHz Willamette (worse than a 1GHz P3 in many cases)
256MB PC133 SD RAM
40GB WD Hard Drive

to this rig beast! (sig)

Can you play some BF2 and tell me how it is?

wow. talk about an upgrade. :Q

Personally, I dont' think the performance of the 7800gtx justifies its price (for that matter, I dont' think any amount of performance would justify that price). Especially for me; I've got an x800xl, so I'm set for a year, at least. But if thats what floats your boat, I can't stop you, nor will I try. 🙂

i wish ppl would come from their fantasy worlds into the real world. what price do you expect the GTX to be at, 300?? compare $600 to a 1000 - 1100 6800U SLI setup and this card is single slot, performs very similarily(beats it also sometimes) and takes much lesser power than 2 Ultras. what more can you expect?

How power hungry are these things? Im thinking of running two off of a 2 year old vantec stealth 520w in my Asus. Should I just order a better power supply now so I wont be stuck with just one in my system

what's your idea of a good $650 spent? a hooker? 😛

No, not a hooker, but I think that it's bad if $650 on a piece of hardware that will be slow a year from now that is only used for gaming is the best thing you've ever bought...heck, that's half what I payed for my computer...

Let me guess, you play at 1280x1024 without Vertical sync on, because the frame rates make you randy, despite the horrendous tearing that any card does 🙂
