I love living here...

I mean I'm sure it's lovely there but I fucking hate bears.

Dude...we have bears for days.

All are taken within about 50 feet of each other...in different years.

Yeah. I really dislike them. I get that it's not ok to obliterate wildlife but on a visceral level I'd be happy to see bears no where in a 1k km radius of me!

Why? Those are black bears. Nothing like grizzly bears, Alaskan brown bears or polar bears...those three will eat you. Black bears rarely bother humans.

Do de bears have any diamonds on them? You should check. Get it de bears instead of de Beers.

Damn, tough crowd.

@BoomerD I can see the value of a sturdy 10ft tall fence. But suspect that if you put some Danishes out in the yard, they'd manage to amble over.

edit - might want to add some concertina (razor) wire. Just sayin'

We sometimes get bears in town here, and sometimes moose too. The only annoyance is when they get into the garbage but otherwise they are fairly harmless.

I do and the bears in the Italian mountains are too close!
The only thing I think I feel that strongly about are poisonous snakes. When I lived in Alabama we had to keep a snake bite kit in the glove compartment. Once me and dad ran over one that was, with no exaggeration, stretched completely across the dirt road. That was fun.

Which was worse; the snakes or Alabama?
I have to say I never really liked Bama. You could have a rodeo with size of some of the roaches. And since mom hated insects, with a passion one didn't often see in her, dad had to post a perimeter of insecticide.

But did that make me crazy? Uh . . . no, why do ask?

If you like to hunt though, back in the late 50's and early 60's, just pick a direction.

The army base was fun though. They had zip lines before they were "a thing."

Oh, and the fire ants were not one of my faves either.

My info was dated so I did a quick google. It seems that lab grown diamonds have come of age and are ahem "disrupting" the market. Also . . .

Does DeBeers still have a monopoly? Mined diamond prices are now set by market forces of supply and demand, and have been since 2005. The famed DeBeers monopoly, which lasted from the early 1900's until 2000, ultimately ended up costing DeBeers more than it was worth.

I'm still kind of sad I didn't see a grizzly in Alaska the last time I went to the kenai.

However I do prefer where I live. For example walking around the city yesterday to get an electrostatic bag and pick up a new graphics card, The amount of beautiful women I saw was just insane. I will still prefer that as my daily view over bears, But I will go hiking to find them 😁
