When my Thinkpad T30 was nearing the end of warranty, I had to get its system board replaced 3 times (apparently they had a bad batch). On the third time, a service rep from an escalated department called me, and ask me if instead of sending back my T30 again, they could just upgrade me to a current model as long as I wouldn't mind a 4 week delay for manufacturing. I sure as hell wasn't about to say no!

Sufficed to say, here I sit typing this response on my new T43, with every feature imaginable (cuz my T30 was top for its time). This one experience will make me always buy a thinkpad.

PS - another reason I will always buy a thinkpad, all the preloaded software is actually useful!!!! Access Connections, Easy Eject (ejecting multiple USB things with one button press), Presentation Director, Fingerprint Software!!! I have to say, Access Connections 4 is the best thing EVER.

Hmmm
I was just thinking about how boring they look though

not anymore. Take a look at the Z60t

It's quite amazing too, the Z60 and T60 series will finally have a windows key on the keyboard, yet quite a few reviews, including AT's view this as a questionable move.
