Just listened to their new song Octavarium...just thought I'd share. I really dig this new CD...better than the last one I think.
 
They do rock indeed. It took me a while to warm up to 8V, but it is an awesome CD. Extraordinarily subtle. There are so many hidden things in it.

Totally...that's one of the things I just love about it.

Of course, my favorite is still SFAM followed by ACOS.

Word, DT rocks. Octavarium is an amazing song. Train of Thought is actually a really amazing CD too, lots of very subtle things.. I love complicated music.

Oh, and John Petrucci is the man.
 
I find it interesting they reworked This Dying Soul into Root Of All Evil. One of the main riffs and also part of the solo.

The last song is kind of a tribute to other prog rock songs, clever.

Yeah, it's The Glass Prison + This Dying Soul + Roof of All Evil + ...
They're making it into one giant song, each one covering two or three of the steps from AA, until they've gone through all 12.
 
So I thought of several things that could be DT...that we refer to as DT but they weren't what you were talking about
