I love drunken parents

I'll preface this: I'm 19, and I do not live at home I am visiting.

So today, my mom comes home pissed out of her mind...like she has for the last 3 days.

We got into a fight earlier so we weren't talking.

So about 15 minutes ago she's yelling help! help! which in this house means nothing because she yells it for everything...

So I go look, and she had plugged the toilet and it was overflowing everywhere. Being drunk and intelligent, all she managed to do was stare at it and throw a single towel on it.

So I shut off the water, and bring her towels thinking she can manage to clean it. It was her plugged toilet, and I'm mad enough at her from our earlier fight.

So 5 minutes later, instead of cleaning it, she just walks away from it, goes into my sisters room and starts blaming her how it was somehow her fault.

So I have to go lead her back to her own mess and give her towels and coach her thru cleaning some gross spilled water.

Charming. It feels like I grew up in a trailer park.

Well, he lives elsewhere. Sorry, it was unclear...but both my parents are raging alcoholics so I was kind of generally angry.

that's pretty sad :( i don't know what it's like to have parents come home drunk or anything... in fact, i've never seen my parents drunk or even drink more than a beer or a glass of wine or two.

i'd imagine it'd be pretty traumatic to have your parents come home drunk and embarrass you all the time.

Look if your parents are alcoholics. Smack the crap outta em. I'm serious. People often don't learn until it comes to force. Really it'll come down to shove. Go for it before they do. I mean they must have hit you guys if both your parents are "raging" alcoholics. Next time they try to hit you beat the sh1t outta em.

You need to take them over to their mess and rub their nose in it and yell, bad! a couple times. That should get the messege across.

i feel sorry for you having both parents being alcoholics. i knew a girl in HS who also had that situation at home. oddly she married a guy who is now an alcoholic.

you haven't lived until you are forced to take your mother grocery shopping while she is drunk.

correction... OTHER parents are cool when they are drunk.

my parents are cool when they drink.

I dont know anybody who is cool when they are drunk. I'm not 13, so its not comical anymore. Granted, I enjoy an alcoholic beverage now and then, its simply not cool.
