TGIFridays used to sell some really mean clam chowder, but now i go to a crabhouse for some cream of crab soup, yum yum yummy!

Yep its on the thinner side but fresher tasting imo than some of the artificially pasty chowders.
I like it thicker too but not at the expense of quality. Nothing against Chunky...its just not as good imo.
edit: btw, some of the best NE style restaurant chowders are on the thinner side as well...thickening it is easy, but making it fresh tasting is much harder to do. Sometimes restaurants make it thicker in the summer, and thinner in the winter.
