Preface : We're going to Costa Rica on Friday morning ... GF decided she wanted an underwater camera. I didn't want to get the canon one, as it looked like a kids toy, and the new Panasonic Lumix looked great, and i've been kind of wanting it since it came out anyhow. I also didn't want to get it B&M, because they were $350~ + tax

So I ordered up a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2, and a 16GB class 6 SDHC card last night, and they already showed up...barely 7 hours it took to get here!

Left facility : 12/29/2010 2:25 A.M.
Delivered : 12/29/2010 9:10 A.M.

I love Amazon Prime, and their overnight shipping for $3.99!

How close do you live to the distro center that it shipped from? Any negatives to using Prime?

Yeah, we were going to get housing, but it was $140~ for our sony ... so we opted for a underwater camera...not like we're going to scuba dive with it.

It was in KY, I live in MN. Negatives of Prime? It costs yearly... $79? I got it free for one year though, so I may actually pay the $ 79, I use Amazon for 75% of my online purchases now, just for the free 2 day shipping, or $3.99 overnight.

Yeah, I'm not too willing to drop $750+ on the underwater enclosure for my camera yet. I want to wait until I get a DSLR, it just doesn't seem cost effective to get an enclosure for my Powershot G6.

Especially when the sea life seems to wander up on the beach and pose for me.

I also don't want a bulky DSLR, otherwise i'll sit there taking a lot of pictures ... more then I want to, rather go out and do stuff ;P.

No offense to those who love to take quality pictures. I just take them to remember ... sometimes I get some good ones with P&S cameras.

If you enjoy using an SLR, that's great. If you don't, that's great too.

P+S cameras can take fantastic pictures and an enthusiastic photographer with a P+S will take better photos than a guy who can't wait to go home and put down his $3,000 camera and $6,000 worth of lenses.

Don't defend yourself. Just have fun and take some pictures!

I did 90% of my Christmas shopping using prime. Split it with a family member for $40 apiece.

You simply can not go wrong with it. It's like a non-verbal contract with Amazon "I'll buy more shit from you if you agree to not screw me over on shipping."

Prime is unbeatable.
Toss in one-click purchasing too? Brilliant.

Everyone seems to love Prime but then they say how it causes them to spend money they otherwise wouldn't have.

I have $64 in Amazon credit and can't figure out what to buy.

So far I haven't purchasedanything I already would not have bought elsewhere...I just go to Amazon for the cheaper price + 2day/overnight shipping. I also LOVE the return policy.

This. Amazon Prime is awesome. I did a lot of Christmas shopping because it's so much easier and cheaper. If I don't need something same day, I can get it from Amazon next day or 2nd day and they are so easy to deal with.

Prime is great and useful around Christmas time. We did majority of Christmas shopping on Amazon. I made sure I ordered each item separately so Amazon couldnt bundle shipments and save on shipping. I've never paid for Prime. Amazon seems to offer me free Prime around the holidays. I got free 3 month trials the past 3 seasons. This year they offered me 4 free months so I'm good til March.
