I lost the title to my car...what to do?

Has anyone here ever lost the title to their car? I know you can get a duplicate, but how long does it typically take? I am guessing weeks since these things always take an unnecessarily long time.

I am trying to sell my truck, and I just realized the title is missing 🙁 I have all of the insurance and registration information so people will know it isn't stolen, but it really sucks that I can't sell it and people have come by to look at it/made offers.
 
It's 5-6 days in Iowa. Check your state's DMV website - it should tell you.

Replacing Lost Titles
If you permanently misplace or damage your title beyond repair you need to fill out a Duplicate Title Request and Receipt form and take it to a county title and registration office with your vehicle registration. The fee to replace the title is $8.60.
