Why do some people say that RAID 0 isn't bootable?

That is the first I have heard of it, and it was on this forum..... someone please explain. SCSI or IDE raid, I don't care.

SOFTWARE RAID 0 isn't bootable. That is, if you dont have a hardware RAID controller and Windows is doing the work, you obviously need to boot to windows before any RAID can be initialized.

I used to run RAID-0 on a Promise Fasttrak66 and I can confirm it is definately bootable!

Strafe's right. It's software RAID which is the problem.

Ah, that's where I was lost before, when they were calling the Promise controllers software based, and then saying that software RAID 0 won't boot.
