hi,
i was running a Duron 800 with a good HSF on a ECS K7S5A (SiS 735) with a 128MB stick of generic Micron PC2100 (with eight 128Mbit chips). add a Geforce 2 MX 400 and a 40GB Western Digital WD400BB. Vre is fixed at only 1,61V.
to overclock it the only options in my BIOS (27aug01) were FSB/mem 100/133 and 133/133. i then went with 100/133 at the most conservative memory timings and everything was fine.
since the CPU with low loads was only at 25°C/77°F i decided to try also the 133 FSB that would bring the CPU to 1064MHz (always at the most conservative memory timings).
upon exiting the BIOS i lost the monitor, and the system would just hang doing nothing but flashing the CDROM LED for a while, then nothing at all. no BEEP error codes. anyway, nothing is hot.
in my naive attempts i put in a PCI videocard. obviously solved nothing.
losing the monitor and not being able to get to the BIOS is VERY frustrating.
thanks, marco
