I was so used to having win2k automatically login administrator, but now that I have another computer and would like to add more users I cannot remember the admin's password. Is there any way of finding it or reseting it?

You are going to have to delete a file called SAM. Do that and then log in as Administrator with no password.

In fact, you may want to check this previous thread for more options and a better explanation.

I would try this link
supposedly a boot disk that lets you change password and registry on any NT/win2k machine.

Says "There's full FAT filesystem support, including long filenames (VFAT) but only limited NTFS support" not sure what that means ....

If you dare to try, please report here and tell us if it works!

P.S. I have never tried it my self, but found it for a friend that lost his password, he got cold feet when I had the disk and asked if had copied every importaint file to a network drive, he then made one last try and remebered the password ;-(
