I lost my wallet

I lost my wallet at the football game yesterday (Cal vs Oregon State). I guess I left it at the concession stand when I bought a soda. Oddly enough it was right next to the concession stand my fraternity was working. They were selling churros, but I wanted a soda so I had to walk 3 feet away.

I guess they dug through all my stuff and found these phone cards with contact info, matched it up with my name and called me. I ignored it during the game because, well, it was an intense game. I got a call after leaving the stadium and that's when I found out I was missing my wallet.

Anyways, the girl who had picked it up was cool and she explained what happened and stuff. I picked it up from her and all my cash was there (all $21). I'm happy. :) I was still so shocked at the game and that I lost my wallet that I only said thanks a few times. Didn't get to really chat with her and all that to figure out how they got my number and what not.

You now have to pay it forward to 3 complete strangers. Good luck. And if you see some kids picking on a smaller kid, don't interfere, as they will stab you in the gut and you will die.

I've lost my wallet before.

SUCH a headache.

you are lucky that you were in a state of shock, otherwise I'd be pissed that there's no pics of the girl who rescued your wallet.

I found a wallet the park last week. I was walking around and I saw this wallet sitting on a tree branch. I went rummaging through it and found a high school schedule with the guy's address on it. It was only a few miles away so I went over to give it to him. He didn't even say thanks. Jerk.

My brother left his wallet in a cab once (and everywhere else previously). The next day, the cab drives up and knocks on the door and gives him his wallet back. All $200 still there. He gave him $20 for his trouble.

I'm really surprised he got the cash back.

I lost my wallet in Boston earlier this year. Less than a week later a bubble mailer shows up containing my untouched wallet. I think I had ~$150 in cash in it at the time. No note or return address.

It's a great feeling to know there are still good people left on this planet.

I should turn this into a YAGT.

Here's the problem:

1) I didn't pick it up because the girl lived far away from me. My friend was working concession stands at the stadium so they got out at least 45 minutes after I did. I was called by the girl when I was 5 ft from my apartment. It's close to a 20 minute walk uphills, so I called my friend up who was just about to leave. Her apartment was on my friend's route back home and was just down the block from the stadium so he picked it up for me.

2) Thus, no pics, no idea who this girl is. According to my friend she's not cute, but she's not bad looking.

What to do? Hahaha, not that I'm desperate or anything.

Anyways, yeah I am thankful that there are good people left. How can I give back to this world? Or to her even? =P

I had a similiar experience about 15 years ago. I was riding my ten speed home and my wallet fell out of my shorts. A week later I received it in the mail from the Portland Police Bureau.

Lost my wallet in the beach while walking in knee-high tide during my honeymoon. I kept it in my shirt pocket and casually suggested jumping over each tide. As we jumped over the tide, so did my wallet...into the water and into the tide flowing back into the ocean. There went my ID, AMEX, and cash. It was definitely scary to lose all of those while in Mexico! We kept scanning the water for a black wallet and after 30mins, we walked back to the hotel, disappointed.

Somehow, I saw something black floating a few feet away and the tide brought it back! I just needed to scramble a few feet to retrieve my precious wallet. But as soon as I was a foot away, the tide mockingly took it back into the ocean and brought it back a few feet farther away. After a few bouts with the ocean, I got my wallet back drenched with sea water and sand :D
