It's not that I have anything against ATi, but with the r520 XL probably around the speed of the GTX, and the r520 XT first comming late october, and I like nv drivers a little bit better than ATi...... that made be push the button.

lol, n00bies

remember ATI started off this trend of high power cards with the 9700. they still make cards as good of quality as Nvidia. just because they are doing poorly in this quarter doesn't mean much. nvidia had its down moments for 2 years before the geforce 6 series

keep the fanboyish comments down

Meh. I wouldn't say it is the BEST system around, here is why.

CPU = good
Ram = good
Motherboard: Infinity is just sorta mainstream, I would get a Lanparty series
Hard drive: I have heard horror stories about hitachi, they break down, make noise, get hot, and in general are unreliable. Samsung is the best brand IMO.
Cooling: Water cooling = good, asetek = meh. I would get a koolance instead, but I don't know how much more expensive that would be.
PSU: I would get a OCZ, Antec, Or PCP&C.
Graphic card: Gainward? You should have got the EVGA Free MoBo deal, better warranty, and you would have gotten a better motherboard and graphic card too.
Ramsinks: Why? The card has actively cooled ram already, unless you are using them for the back.
Rubber suspension: you wouldn't need this if you had got a samsung.

I suppose all I just said is useless since you already ordered the system though.

so when did OCZ and Antec become anywhere near as close in quality to Seasonic or PC&P?

Fortron, PC&P and Seasonic are a notch above the others. Antec, OCZ follow

as for the hardrive recommendation, Hitachi makes fine hard drives these days. they are very quick, very quiet and people have had good experiences with them. they are a trustworthy brand

and yes, I would have went for the free mobo deal with evga

Still good for o/c, 3x PCI slots, better placement of southbridge, cheaper = winner

Hard drive: I have heard horror stories about hitachi, they break down, make noise, get hot, and in general are unreliable. Samsung is the best brand IMO.

I've heard horror stories of all brands. The Hitachi has good reviews all over.

Cooling: Water cooling = good, asetek = meh. I would get a koolance instead, but I don't know how much more expensive that would be.
This kit has gotten 4.5-5 / 5 in all the reviews I've read. Koolance is not available over here :)

PSU: I would get a OCZ, Antec, Or PCP&C.

Seasonic S-12 600W = Quiet, efficient and rock stable, PC P&C is probably better, but noise level alone makes it a no-no.

Graphic card: Gainward? You should have got the EVGA Free MoBo deal, better warranty, and you would have gotten a better motherboard too.
Not available in Denmark, specially not all the hotdeals. Everything sold in Denmark has 2 years warranty.
Ramsinks: Why? The card has actively cooled ram already, unless you are using them for the back.

not when I use watercooling

Rubber suspension: you wouldn't need this if you had got a samsung.
Maybe, maybe not. Silence is a must.

I suppose all I just said is useless since you already ordered the system though.

I could cancel the order, but I don't agree in your views ;)

Yeah, I sorta see where you are coming from. It looks like a good system then!

Nice system Biostud.

The only changes Id have made would be purely personal preference.

ie. MSI NF4 mobo (it attracts me more than other boards)
Samsung Spinpoint (SPCR recommended :p)
Thermalright HS with L1A or Id have went BigWater (good baby step WC kit to introduce me into the WC business)

I dont know how great that is price-wise from the UK but its a fine system the way it is.

Are you still getting rid of that Seasonic Super Tornado and willing to discuss? :p

hehe, yeah, but I might try to sell it to a friend (to save shipping :p). Also I have to mention sometimes it needs a wack (not more than once a month), since the fan seem to get out of stability. The price would be around £25.

I have the Hitachi T7K250, no issues yet it runs cool and is not noisy by Seagate standards. They improved the original Deskstar drives and heat issues have been corrected. The only exception is with the 500GB model which still has some issues with heat from the reviews I've read.

I just switched the drive to 3.0GB/s using the feature tool, but I've yet to see any performance gains....the drive is fast already.

I would go OCZ Platnium memory over the Performance.

I also have the PC Power & Cooling PSU Turbo-Cool 510 Express/SLI, I can't really agree that's it loud? Then again I'm not using water-cooling so any fan noise would be heard, even the PSU's.

...already stated why that isn't an option, but I can do it again: Not available in Denmark :)

True, true.....

I am an ATI fanboy at heart, I am the proud owner of an ATI x800xl. I only make the comment about who needs them is becuase I think those of us that are loyal to ATI are a bit pissed about all the hype of the 520 to see it released 6 month's after the Nvidia 7800 series.

Sucks.

I second that, the X2 4400+ isn't cheap. I could have bought two 2GB OCZ Platinum kits for the price of that processor and had some spare change.

What do you intend to do with the PC that requires ultra low noise?

If your playing games with surround sound speakers I highly doubt the PSU fan will be audible.

My X800XL PCI-E works fine for now, I won't be going Crossfire since I bought the ASUS A8N-SLI Prem. So next upgrade will be nVidia.

The noise is annoying when doing other stuff, and since I live in a one room apartment it's the only solution. Specially if it's on the night over.

Your asetek 3 x 120mm would 100% cools better than those all in one koolance kit.

I own one of the 2 x 120mm asetek kit before, and it cooled my FX-55 like a charm.

However, I don't need it anymore since even the $80 Cooler Master Aquagate Mini keep my 4400+ under 40C even after 40 hours of 100% load.
