Wow. Train derailment in Santa Cruz? I only know of a narrow-gauge there that takes tourists from Felton to Santa Cruz boardwalk and back.

They get those every once and a while. I would take a screen shot of it as they seem to go in and edit that out later

This happened to me back in May 2001 - I ordered a Thunderbird 1GHZ and an ABIT mobo from NewEgg or the like (don't remember) and it didn't make it to me before my LAN party ... really pissed me off.

Can a train derail only slightly... not really visible to the casual spectator?

Yes - a set of wheels could jump the rail, while the rest of the cars will stay true. If the operators catch in time, they'll stop the train before the derailed car will cause more damage by catching on an obstacle or pulling other cars with it.

Yeah, I had a train derailment on something I had ordered from Amazon a couple years back; it arrived the next day (and it certainly didn't look like it had been involved in any sort of train crash).

That is when you know it is packed well.

This happens all the time. I've gotten two of these in the past few years. It doesn't mean the UPS train derailed, but something is holding the tracks up.
