I live in a bubble

Not a plastic bubble, a figurative bubble. I work at a ski resort in the winter and rock climb in the summer. The only friends I have either ski, climb or do both. I know this one girl who doesn't do any of these things (and she is pretty nerdy, score one for the good guys).

90% of my friends work with me, or has worked with me in the past. Most of my friends live close to me, we all live near the base of the mountains. There is a whole side of this town I have never been to. I never go downtown, it's "too far away". I never make it to Park City, it's "too long of a cab ride home". When I go to a bar, it's one of a few that are near me. When I go to a house party, it's never more than 5 miles away.

My bubble rocks.

The girl I mentioned earlier suggested that my bubble does in fact not rock. She suggests that the bubble is bad and I should meet people outside of the bubble. I've been thinking about that, and I realized I have no idea how to do that! If I spend all my time at the ski resort or the climbing gym, how am I going to meet someone who doesn't participate in these things?

Then I realized she is dumb and my bubble rules.

So you're pretty much worthless to society and won't contribute a danm thing. That's pretty sweet. Live on, bubble boy.

I'm kind of the same way... not the same activities per say but the general idea of the bubble and doing the same things, going to the same bars, etc. I'm cool with it. I think my bubble rocks too.

Sounds like a cool bubble. I snowboard and I really wanted to get into rock climbing when a good friend of mine did a couple years ago, but because of my schedule then I couldn't really spend as much time with it as he did and now he's way more advanced and the last time I tried to go out with him to climb outdoors I just felt like I was in the way because I couldn't keep up :(

I was able to do 5.8 in a gym, but 5.7 outdoors totally kicked my ass and now he regularly climbs 5.9 and above :(

I'm quite jealous of your bubble sir.

I do not think it means, what you think it means.

different word, same meaning.

Not really.

KT

if one word is referenced in the definition of another, could they not mean the same thing?

asocial would mean the OP doesn't socialize at all, Anti-social is some sort of negative social behavior like being violent or rude, neither of which is what the OP said. He just said that his social circle is somewhat limited when compared to.. what, I don't know, it sounds like a normal, healthy social life to me..

OP is not anti-social or asocial. OP sounds like a cool ass dude imo..

If you are looking at it loosely, maybe, but I tend to agree with the following: ?asocial? suggests indifference to or separation from society, whereas ?anti-social? more often suggests active hostility toward society".
