Just get both then the only decision is which platform to buy a particular game on and you can start over on the debate but throw controller preferences in there too lol.
Of course, though that logic doesn't quite apply to things perfectly. When people are looking at consoles to decide which to get, this is something to consider, if you are able to see the difference. You wouldn't say, "just because the PS4 doesn't have Halo, it doesn't make Bloodborne worse," to someone deciding which console he wants. Picking a console, then questioning your decision, then your point really applies.
Any meaningful debate/discussion is mostly dead once you pick a platform. This is more about people yet to decide, and I don't care for using your argument in that scenario.
That's really not a feasible solution for everyone. Some don't have the money for both. Some are getting it for someone as a gift, or as a gift from someone. Some just don't find the value in two consoles because of time constraints. Money's not endless, nor is time, so the answer's not usually "both."
The answer is always both, has been since Genesis/SNES days. That way you don't miss any games and can pick the best version of any title that releases. It's always my answer.
If your thinking of changing consoles, why not change the format. For the price of a new console you can get a good gaming PC. You'll save money on the games and the money saved you can upgrade the hardware so you get a better experience playing the game. I changed over about 3 weeks back and I sorry I didn't do it years a go. Lucky for me I sold a lot of ps4 game and the console, put the cash together and got a high end gaming PC.
The games are so muck cheaper you will save in the long run. If you don't believe me about the game prices, try looking at Steam, G2A or Humble bundle.
Ok I had a few friends that I've lost touch with but I'm sure I'll find more who play the same games I do, btw I get true 1080 HD, non of this 720 poo.
Cheers Karl
Sorry if I've upset any console gamers out there, but the games don't look half as good and cost a lot more.
1. Not much (if any) cheaper at launch on PC.
2. Still can't play console exclusives on PC.
3. Many of us have PCs and are picking a console to go with PC.
Bad argument irrelevant to the discussion. The person said he likes the One exclusives, so telling him game prices for titles he doesn't want are better makes no sense.
oh you're so wrong there. You can get most if not all games cheaper at launch on PC. GTA5 for example is $48 in GMG.1. Not much (if any) cheaper at launch on PC.
And you can't play PC games on the consoles, so it's a moot point.2. Still can't play console exclusives on PC.
It's not really irrelevant, just an alternative to consider.Bad argument irrelevant to the discussion. The person said he likes the One exclusives, so telling him game prices for titles he doesn't want are better makes no sense.
to be fair, the whole premise of this thread doesn't make sense. it's amusing to read though.

People called Bioshock and Gears of War "XBOX-exclusive" last generation even though they we're on PC. Bioshock eventually came to PS3.
Anyway, I guess the TLDR of all the above is that MS is an inconsistent publisher when it comes to PC, but quite a few Xbox One "exclusives" will end up on the PC.
Just as a few "PS4 Exclusives" will also be on PC: Street Fighter 5, Hellblade, No Man's Sky, and probably Bloodborne. Given this mix if you are a non-social gamer who doesn't mind not being the first person to play a big game the PC is the most compelling third platform since before the NES hit America.
But if you are like OP and you want to play Xbox 1 games, and then you need to buy a Xbox 1. Pretty simple actually.
One thing I was leaving out of the "exclusives" story, was that a lot of Japanese developers are short sighted when it comes to the rest of the world. Xbox sells terrible in their region, so sometimes they'll skip porting a game to Xbox, even though the worldwide sales would probably easily justify the cost... So you end up with a lot of "Playstation exclusive" Japanese games, on games where Sony didn't need to buy loyalty. A lot of those titles get PC ports eventually, though.
Just to add, even the PS4 isn't doing too hot right now in Japan although much better than the XB1. Mobile gaming on platforms such as the Vita are the big thing right now. Based on the current trends, you are more likely to see some Japanese franchises show up on Vita as their primary platform in spite of being traditionally Playstation. I believe this is why we are seeing a lag in PS4 game releases. Naturally, all the big western hits are going to come out such as Uncharted and Gran Turismo, but I think there won't be as many niche Japanese titles crossing the pond for release on the PS4. You'll have to look toward the Vita for those.
While it's true that handhelds are more popular in Japan, I'm not sure if I agree on the idea that the PS4 has sold weak in Japan. Yeah yeah, I know, there were a lot of clickbait articles saying stuff like that, but the sales numbers don't match up to the story. PS4 has sold over 1.3 million already in Japan, which is a more than healthy growth rate for a new console. And, there's already been quite a few games released with the Japanese gaming audience in mind.
Yokuza, Toukiden Kiwami, God Eater 2, One Piece Pirate Warriors 3, Dragon Quest Heroes, and a bunch of other games catering to the Japanese audience, have already been released on PS4, and a bunch of these aren't being ported to Xbox One, even if they're 3rd party games that could easily be ported for a small cost. I think it's insanely moronic not to port them, but that's just the state of Japanese game development right now, I guess.
