This is because the 12V rails dropped like the panties on a $2 whore. If this power supply was hooked up to an actual PC and not an ATE, it would have locked up like the chastity belt on a baptist minister's daughter.

Yep

Lots of VG info is for offer on the left of that link but most of the kiddies won't read it.
They seem to want a tutorial posted for them every other day 😀

:X i dont think he knows ministers kids very well. From my experience most pastors kids, we call them PK for short, tend to be more corupted then the average lot :X

You taught me that lesson quite a while ago 😉

Also Zap... I read that a few weeks ago and couldn't stop laughing.

Hilarious, and full of high-quality info to boot 😉

Actually, I'm married to a PK. My wife's father is a retired Deciples of Christ pastor. He's actually has a doctorate in theology. Despite his age, he still does a number of interim ministries.

My comment was actually rather tongue and cheek. Think "dark ages" when thinking of an actual "chastity belt." 😉

jonnyguru rocks. Period.... Not only that his reviews are informative they are funny to read. Making the experience lot nicer. 🙂

Keep up the good job Jonny. I want a review of the supermicro PWS-0060. 🙂

Buy one for <$120. Have it shipped to him direct. So we can all see 12V@46A on a single
rail do it's thing. 😛

Hey jonnyGURU, if you are reading this... how do you get the PSUs you test? I think you mentioned in a couple of them that they were given to you by a vendor or manufacturer (am I right?) but were all of them that way? Do you ever buy your own? Do you ever have end users send PSUs to you?

Sometimes they're given to me. I also have friends at Tiger and ASI that hook me up with manufacturers. Some manufacturers contact me directly. Typically, I buy them myself and then turn around and sell them when I'm done with them.

I've been waiting for more PSUs on your FS thread. 🙂 I need some PSUs for my crack rack... 😀 I was sad I missed out on that modular PSU.

Enhance ATX-1136FA-DBS 360W Dual-Core v2.2 24/20pin Power Supply $27 or about $26 if you use a Froogle referral. What's notable about this is that it scores really high on the "heft test" meaning it's pretty darn heavy for the output, and the guts totally fill the thing up, unlike some supplies which seem almost empty. It has 20+4 power and 6 pin PCI-E, so seems like it has all the bases covered for all but a top end SLI system. Oh yeah, it is missing a bit, nay, make that any and all bling. That's my recommendation for your next test. 😀

Voltages bounced more than the opening shot of Baywatch. I loved this comment by jonny guru on Antec neoHE 430. 🙂
