I like instant coffee

Let me preface this by saying I also love high quality coffee. My everyday cup of coffee that I make at work is a french press, weighed whole beans on a scale and a proper volume of water to ensure the correct ratio. But, I also really enjoy the taste of instant coffee. It is so quick an easy. I think where people go wrong is they compare instant coffee to a fancy cup of coffee, but that is like comparing a Honda Civic to a Mercedes. Sure the Mercedes is great, but we can also appreciate the reliability and consistency of the Civic as they every person's car. When you take instant coffee for what it is, it's pretty decent.

I tolerate instant coffee. Sometimes I just want something quick, and instant is good enough for that, and it certainly beats no coffee. Starbucks Via is exceptional, but I don't like paying that much for instant.

Never tried instant, but as far as basic preground coffee I find Maxwell House is decent though. At home I usually grind my own beans too but at work we have a keurig so I either use kcups, or put my own grounds in one of the reusable pods. Right now I'm going through some President's Choice coffee, it's ok, but think next one I buy will be Maxwell House again. I sometimes try different ones but always go back to that one.

We do have a grinder at work though so I sometimes bring my beans if I think of it.

I don't care for instant coffee at all aside from fancy stuff like Starbucks Via which tastes a lot like brewed coffee but is just too expensive. If I had to drink regular instant I'd go with Tasters Choice, but frankly I'd be more likely to just have tea instead.

Since I don't really have hot water available on demand at home making instant coffee would probably be just as quick as the regular pot I make. At work we have hot water dispensers, but we also have coffee, so I don't really have any reason to use instant.

I bought some cheap freeze dried coffee. I use it to make iced coffee drinks. I warm up about 2 ounces of water in a coffee mug in the microwave. Add 2 tsp of coffee and stir. Add in any flavorings and sweetener. I like vanilla and agave syrup. Fill the rest of the mug up with cold water and stir. I fill my magic bullet cup up with ice. Add the coffee mixture to the ice and fill to the top with milk. Blend until ice until desired consistency. It's not perfect but it's a change from my regular black eight o'clock coffee.

scenario: walk to kitchen..fill up kettle. go pee. pull bag of milk from fridge..scoop either sugar or instant coffee. come back from pee sooner or later...15 minutes saved.
