I like Guiness on ice. Does that make me crazy?

I'd be more pissed about the fact that you're getting drips and your cup isn't even half full while also being filled with ice.

(I'm assuming you're finishing off the bottle?)

No alcohol to me tastes good enough to me that I give a rats ass what container its out of (well assuming its clean). I don't give a shit how much wine in a specific glass enhances the aroma, I'm drinking it not snorting it.

Holy shit, with powdered alcohol starting to become commercially available, ATOT we should take expensive wine, turn it into powder and then sell it to rich yuppies. Then again its probably wasted on them with all the coke they snort, but maybe they'd still buy it?

I would never do that, but it's a free country, do what you like to do as long as it doesn't hurt anybody.

not a fan of the extra stout guinness, i just like the normal one that is in the tall cans with the nitrogen in it. i got 2 18packs of that at my house. i never put it on ice, but i love it ice cold. alot of people say it tastes best when it's like room temp or a little cooler than that, but i prefer it ice cold.

I am going to be honest, Guinness just isn't that good of a stout. There are much better. For all the hate Bud Lite gets on this forum, you'd think all the beer snobs would be in here saying how generic and mass produced piss Guinness was as well.

Yes, one of many things OP.

I don't mind Guinness for what it is, but it really does not taste like anything. Super bland, but I like it for a generic stout or whatever it claims to be, on occasion.

It may be one of the wimpiest stouts, but its much better than any lager could ever dream to be.. Lagers all taste the same, and its not particularly good. The ground floor for stouts is like the top of Everest compared to the ground floor for lagers being at sea level.

Buy it in the can and not the bottle. It is far better. And use a glass, geez.

If you think all of something tastes the same, there is a problem with your taste buds, not the product. With that said, American style lagers have their place, same as stouts. Man, it sure is hot, I could go for a nice, heavy, warm stout about now. - said no one ever.

And Guinness is bottom of the barrel as far as stouts are concerned.

OK, lagers do not really all taste the same. German Lagers with good higher mineral well water or stuff that has no adjuncts and decent amounts of hops can be pretty interesting, but, in general, the diversity within the world of lagers is very minimal compared to the range of diversity within the world of ales.

When its hot, I will gladly drink an adjunct lager if a better choice is not available, but, id rather have a wheat ale, a cream ale, or maybe a saison or perhaps a weiss, or, a geuze or a lambic maybe ...

And yes, I realize Guinness is crap as far as stouts go, I tend to prefer imperial, barrel aged, double, coffee, and/or oatmeal stouts, but, I'll gladly enjoy a cheap dry stout any day of the week.

Huh... Never thought to do that, but it does sound good. As far as the quality of Guinness goes... It's a mass produced beer, and should be ranked with other mass produced beers. It competes favorably for best in class, and no competitors are made in the USA.
