Gas is good.
I bought myself $56.00 worth yesterday for the 4 wheelers and tractors. I even topped off the woman's gas tank in her truck because I like gas so much.
I got to thinking, and I have close to 100 gallons of that beautiful bronze elixir around here scattered in various tanks and cans.
I am a lucky man. :)

Maybe you should take a bath in it? And smoke a cigar while you are at it, I'm told it's very relaxing.

Take a wild guess at what happens when you drop a lit cigarette in a cup of gasoline.

Hold on to those containers of gas - some day, you will be able to fund your children's college education with them. :Q

Still a dangerous proposition, I think.

1) I wouldn't try lighting the cigarette if his hands, face, hair, etc are already covered with a thin layer of gasoline - which he inevitably would be if bathing in the stuff. I guess if his appendages ignite, he could submerge himself in the gas to put out the fire.

2) If he's in an enclosed space, the fumes will eventually build enough to become highly explosive, possibly before he passes out from oxygen deprivation.

I vote the OP gives this a try and report the findings. All in favor?

:D

True, lighter or match WILL ignite the gasoline. However, as you seem to already know, if you drop a lit cigarette into gasoline, the gas will merely put the cigarette out. the cherry on a cigar or cigarette is not hot enough to ignite gasoline.

Anyhow, knowing this fact really bugged me when I watched "Payback" with Mel Gibson when he drops a cigarette into gasoline to ignite it.

Oh shlt, I'd better stop smoking cigars whilst bathing in petroleum. Thanks for the info Amused, you really saved me.

I did this experiment when I was a kid and worked at a gas station. Someone told me you couldn't light gas with a cigarette. I didn't believe it and tried.
It's true.
This is also the same time I learned that styrofoam cups melt if you put gas in them. :)

A cigarette cherry could light gasoline, but the conditions would have to be perfect.. chances are pretty slim.

Maybe if you threw the cigarette into a container filled with a stoichiometric ratio of air:vaporized gasoline... lol

You think that'd fvck up a styrofoam cup?
"stoichiometric ratio of air:vaporized gasoline", that's sigworthy, Eli.
