For the latest generation console you pay less than the newest graphic card.

It's developed for that console, so you get what you get. All detail and graphics are at a max.

You get to play on your couch.

Consoles win!

Depends. If I'm looking for some real strategic deep gaming, I go for PC.

When I'm just looking for a fun game to play for a relatively short while... console.

something more satisfying about PC games.
no idea why, but i almost always prefer PC games even when the general consensus is that console is better. (for a certain game)

Ahhh yea.

Super monkey ball and smash bros have brought more fun in video games to my house than any other over the years.

Get a bunch of friends on your PC at once. Good luck.

Exactly. I mean, sure, you and your buddies could all watch the Super Bowl at the same time in your own houses, but isn't it more fun when everyone comes over for a Super Bowl party?

Have fun playing console games if that's what you enjoy.

I happen to prefer games that aren't on consoles, like Jagged Alliance 2, Planescape Torment, Fallout 1 & 2, etc. and online shooters (Q2, Q3, UT etc). There's just so much more to choose from in PC games, many for $10-20 instead of $50. Once I finish Dungeon Siege I'll probably pick up some more bargain-bin goodness like Alice, Clive Barker's Undying, and/or Freedom Force.

this is definitely the big plus about console gaming...harder to simulate the experience with pc's...

I like both :) I know how to enjoy games w/o caring or concerning which one I like more, or which one has better games.

I just wish PC games makers would get a little more console like
a flash card for game saves, a standard game pad, and publishing on DVD would be a good start

I prefer to have both. Console games suck for FPS, and PC's are not as good for sports. Get the best of both worlds by having them both! :p

That was my thoughts exactly a few months back. SOCOM and HALO changed my point of view forever. FPS can be fun on Console if done right. Plus given the standardised equipment, you bring your game online competing with skills rather than your computer performance. SOCOM with the headset is just the best thing that happened to any FPS.

Of course, when Doom 3 comes out, I'd be more willing to get the PC version just because it's originally designed for PC.

Ok, maybe I overstated a bit, I never meant they weren't fun. Goldeneye for me was one of the best examples of a good console FPS, but over the years personally I prefer FPS on the PC because they just feel better to play, quicker, more responsive, more intense. I'd agree on the 'standardised' equipment allowing a true show of skill, but that's just the way it goes, same goes with ping really :p

I prefer PC FPS too. Quake3 and MOHAA was a lot of fun. MOH for PS2 just doesn't really cut it. I wasn't really expecting too much when I bought HALO home.

You've got to admit that SOCOM headset is one of the best ideas they have for online team-play games. :)

I need a keyboard with lots of buttons for my RTS/FPS games.
Other than that, there is something to be said for being able to buy any game off the shelf and being sure that it will work without needing to go hunting for patches, updates, drivers, hacks, etc.

RTS games is almost certainly never going to succeed in consoles. Don't worry. You can still stick to PC for that one. :)

I heard time spliter, one of the FPS for all consoles, support keyboard and mouse. Wonder how well it'd work.
