Is it over before its even begun? I have a feeling this is.

Met a girl. Nice, we click on a certain level. Def. friends right now, but could see it going beyond that. Anyway, we were talking about prior relationships and I lied and told her that my last relationship of 2 years just ended. This is not true of course, I haven't been in a real relationship in a long long time. I only said it as I didn't want to seem weird or odd or the like. But I really F'd myself.

Thinking if I just told the truth, I would be honest but still come off as odd.

If this relationship develops any further, she will find out eventually that I was lying.

Should I keep my mouth shut and cross my fingers, or just tell her. If we are to just be friends, then she'll think of me as a dumbass. If its more than that or heading in that direction, she won't just blow this off.

I lied, and I'll get burned for it, probably....

I've done that before too. Just keep your mouth shut. If she asks just say you don't like talking about the past.

D00d, youre fine. If she likes you she wont want to know about your past relationships. Just chill, or take JSFLY's advice should it come up.

Why is she worrying about your past relationships so much? Seems somewhat odd to me. But yeah you messed up with the whole picture thing.

Say it ended badly and you had a ritual pyre. You didnt want to bring it up then. Just say, "Actually, i got rid of everything that reminded me of my cheating ex."

This is such a minor issue...one of those little 'white lies'. You should just make it right now and tell her that you really like her so you didn't want to seem weird...but it has really been x number of years since your last relationship. You are sorry for lying, and you want to make it right. Then take her out to dinner and buy her something.

Yeah, I did that once too. She asks for pictures? Say you deleted all of them from your computer and threw out all the prints. Anything else? Just say that you hate the lying bitch that cheated on you, you wish she DIAF and don't want to talk about it. Look a little agitated and she won't bother you again. BTW, she married the guy she was cheating on you with and moved to France.

On second thought, you can leave out the lie in the last line.

Yeh that was dumb. My excuse was always: I gave them back to her cuz I didn't want them.

You told her you have pictures, so you can't back out now. You have to show her Pictures.

Go to some library or bar or mall, pay some cute chick 50 bucks to take a few pictures with her. Make sure the girl u get pics with is better looking than your girl, so she'll think wow he can get some hot chicks and be impressed. Tell her(the girl your taking pics with) the truth of why your taking those pictures so she won't think your some pervert and after they are taken, show them to your girl.

There ya go, problem solved.

If you tell her the truth now, IMO she would have a HARD time trusting you and trust oh so important in a relationship.

Edit: Do tell her the truth tho, but at the right time. A right time would be after you guys are locked up long term and have a solid trust foundation. Then you should be able to get away with a FEW lies.

I can relate to what he did. I had self-esteem issues through high school. In the summer between High School and College, I started hanging out with my older brother and his friends, learned a few things about attitude, how to be cool in large social groups, hitting on chicks that are out of your league with good results etc.

Freshman year in college, I was a changed man. For some reason, girls had this crazy idea I had a killer dating record in High School. I found it odd telling girls I hadn't made any kind of bodily contact with women all the way through School :(
