I want to extend this public service announcement: Never ever buy a refurbished LCD. Even if you get an insane deal.

Here's my Vizio 37" lcd I wooted for about $500.

Thank god for the warranty, as I'm getting a replacement, but seriously it's not worth the headache. Don't be as dumb as I was. Yes, I admit it, this was an idiotic purchase. :*(

ouch. is the warranty process going pretty smoothly, or are you getting jerked around?

So far it has gone quite smoothly. The very nice Taiwanese lvl 2 tech support rep told me the green lines represent the "least thing you want have happen to LCD. Cannot repair, only replacement." So basically, I didn't have to jump through any "lets order this part and maybe that'll do the trick" hoops. Just a plain swap -- which I guess is a good thing.

I just have to fax Vizio my receipt on Monday, at which point they'll send me a new set.
