Spunky is crazy about birds, she cant really talk but she calls them funny name and whenever she sees any bird she get so happy.

I need to score good deal on a bird and cage along with needed supply.

Just put up a huge net by the nearest tree. You are sure to catch a bird then....

Maybe I'm unusual in thinking this, but I just don't feel birds were meant to be pets, to be put into cages. Birds were meant to fly...

Sounds like a cat. What a tease....thats like caging a steak in front of a pack of wolves.

parrot != cheap.

If you want cheap, go with a parakeet or house finch.

You should get her a pet rock. Or a Southwest Fun Fare!

spunky is his daughter, he shared pictures with a few people a while ago.

Why not get a bird feeder? You get to watch all kinds of birds without trapping one in a cage.

Get her one of those Parrot Dolls that has a recorder and mimics noises/words made in it's vicinity. Our Neighbor got her 3 year old one of those and she loves it. However after awhile it may drive you crazy

'Keets can be tamed. With either 'keets or finches, you need to learn to trim their wings or they'll be out of the house in an instant.

With parakeets, however, once they're trained you can let the wing feathers grow out so they can fly around the house.

Oh, and remember that all tropical birds need LOTS of heat. Ideally the cage should be large enough to have a portion of it heated with a lamp to 80 degrees, but the rest at whatever the room temp is. Then the bird can move around to whatever is comfortable.

I thought spunky was something that ended up on the bedspread.
