I know usually you say no, but can my sig be increased 14 characters?

I have two quotes in mine, and just to make it look good, hehe, I want to bold the names of the people in the second set of quotes in my sig. The only problem is, adding the formatting takes the size over the limit. It wouldn't increase the overall size in terms of lines, so I wouldn't be making a really long signature or anything.

Also, I do know this has been denied in the past, but mine is just to make it aesthetically more appealing.

Edit: the reason why probably has to do with the limitations of the size of the data field used to store signatures in the database. My guess is that they're using some text field that is naturally 255 chars long; to switch to a "Memo"- like field would increase the size of the database (possibly drastically), and could also slow things down. Not to mention that then they'd have to write extra code to ensure that the signatures did not exceed some other length (otherwise, since such fields can be arbitrarily long, I'm sure we'd see more than one 10 page signature).

Copy and paste this into your Sig. it is exactly the limit. All you need is creative formatting. Everyone is limited to the same amount. Besides, your SIG is too damn long already. I think mine is too long. A sig should be a max of 2 lines IMHO.
