Is there any way to test a power adaptor for a laptop. Can I plug it into the wall and some how test if any juice is comming out? I'm not sure if its the motherboard on the laptop or the adaptor and I dont have another adaptor to test it with. Its either the board or the adaptor and I hope to god its the adaptor.

see if you can buy a replacement from somewhere with a sweet return policy?

I know the battery is good. It worked on battery. Its my friends laptop and I was cleaning off a virus for him. I was running the laptop with the battery removed. Now when I plug the adaptor into the laptop theres no power. It still works on battery so I know the battery is good. So its either the motherboard or the adaptor. How common is it for those adaptors to go bad?

if it works on battery then lappy's fine, take solace in that

adaptors don't usually go bad unless you have some serious surges or lightning struck it
but its not unheard of

just note the adaptor specs: mainly Volt and Amp out and buy another at a b&m

Helll yah it was the power adaptor. My Thinkpad adaptor is compatible and it powers on thank goodness.
