The Uniwill 258KA0 barebone is the ultimate upgradable laptop. Too bad you can't upgrade GPU tho. You can upgrade it to the Turion line, etc

Most mobile machines (past and present, actually) are upgradable to a point dependent upon the chipset implemented on the board itself, and the BIOS. A majority of the manufacturers continue to release BIOS upgrades for machines as newer processors are released that are compatible with the board's chipset and socket.

Newer machines have also begun to offer PCI-E, which allow GPU upgrades as well.

What they said.

On any laptop you can upgrade:

CPU
CD/DVD (may have issues with the bezel)
Hard Drive
MiniPCI devices (such as wireless network cards)
Memory (Unless already maxed).

On some laptops you can upgrade:

Video card
