I just built a pretty sweet rig for myself but I'd rather have a Frank Zappa quote in my sig than a list of a bunch of computer parts.

I would think that people put their pc specs as sigs is so that they dont have to keep posting specs anytime they post an issue with their pc on a forum. But thats just me.

I turned off sigs, turned off avatars, and block banners because there was so much white space it was making my mouse finger tired just scrolling through threads.

computer hardware signatures drives me up the wall, but I don't make a stink about it since not many people know about the Anandtech Rigs page

Everyone (but one) who has posted in this thread that they have sigs turned off, has a sig.

The one that said he has sigs turned off AND does not actually have a sig, also said he has avatars turned off, but has a custom avatar.

LOL.

Ding ding ding We have a winner. My primary purpose here is the tech forums. I only came to OT when I got layed off, and ran out of reading material from the rest of the site. Having your relevant specs is practical and efficient when your in the legitimate sub forums. As to a rig link... That's lame, and wastes time. Who the hell feels like clicking a link when I say I run Firefox fine with 40 tabs open, just to find out what kind of machine I have. That's ANTI tech. When you do things the slow and stupid way, you might as well be replying by snail mail.
