I need to install dos on a computer and make the computer boot into dos and automatically make the computer load a certain program.

I dont however want to install any other OS like windows 95.... I dont really want to make it boot off a floppy disc each time either.

So basically I need to make my computer boot into dos and load a program without me doing anything other than hitting the power button.

thanks,
Josh

BTW im horrible with dos

you can modify autoexec.bat (i think that's what it's called) and make it run the program you want

I wont be much help really, but when you format it with that dos command and turn it back on, it will boot dos to start, and it will say something like C:/
Then I'm sure there is a way to make it auto-run a program; I just dont know it.
Sorry if I'm no help to you.

I don't think it's bootable after you format it, you would need to at least install dos or something on there. Or you could install the program you want, and then use a boot disk with a modified autoexec.bat to start the program. I'm no dos expert so I dunno if that would work though.

Yea i got it figured out thanks guys.

I installed 98 SE, then modified the msdos.sys
Changed to line Bootgui=1 to Bootgui=0

Now to get the program to boot auto..... i think i got it figured out I just need the rest of the parts to my system to test it

thanks
